Celebrity Cruises is confident there will be a rush to book its new river cruise programme, which is due to go on sale this summer.
Newly promoted Vice President of International Giles Hawke told a media gathering this week that more than half of Celebrity’s existing guests already take river cruises.
“We already have a ready-made market,” he said. “We’re pretty convinced we are going to sell out overnight.”
Celebrity will launch with an initial fleet of 10 ships, but Giles said that was only the beginning. “We have made it clear we are not going to stop at 10 ships,” he added.
So far, Celebrity has revealed that the first of its river cruises will be in Europe, starting in 2027, but exact itineraries and launch dates have yet to be announced.
