The Latin American Travel Association (LATA) has announced that travel agencies can now join the association as full members and receive benefits such as fam trip invites.
Member agencies will receive invitations to attend LATA events, including the Parliamentary Reception and its WTM event, as well as participate in fam trips and other training events.
They will also receive access to the LATA Safety Scheme, which was set up to help improve safety standards in accommodation and transport across Latin America.
Other benefits include media events, the chance to share news on LATA’s social channels and a free seven-week sustainability training programme with The Long Run.
LATA Chair Martin Johnson said: “I am thrilled we can open the LATA membership to welcome travel agencies. This exciting milestone for LATA reflects how the travel selling landscape is continuously changing and developing. We know there is demand from those on the front line of travel selling for increased product awareness. There is also so much more we can offer to support businesses away from their product training.”
Membership for travel agencies costs £995 per year. For agencies joining before the end of December, there is a 10% discount code, LATATrade.
Last week LATA’s CEO Danny Callaghan told agents to expect an increase in demand for Central America when the next Celebrity Race Across the World starts on 6 November.
