Newmarket adds new China tour

Newmarket Holidays has launched a new escorted tour of China.

The ‘Highlights of China with Yangtze Cruise’ is a 16-day adventure combining famous sights, immersive cultural experiences and smooth high-speed rail travel.

The itinerary links Beijing, Xi’an, Chengdu, Chongqing, Suzhou and Shanghai without the need for internal flights, allowing guests to travel more comfortably while taking in China’s landscapes.

The tour includes the Great Wall of China, Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, and the Summer Palace in Beijing; the Terracotta Warriors in Xi’an; and Suzhou’s Lingering Garden and ancient canal district. In Chengdu, guests will tour the celebrated Panda Research Centre, dedicated to the conservation of the giant panda.

A three-night Yangtze River cruise reveals the more tranquil side of the country, showcasing the dramatic Three Gorges and riverside life along China’s longest river. Additional experiences include a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, led by a skilled tea master.

Prices start from £3,452 per person, which includes a 15% discount available on all new Asia bookings made between 23–31 October 2025.

The package includes return flights from seven UK airports, 33 meals, 28 excursions and visits, and four high-speed rail journeys, with departures available from October 2026 and throughout 2027.

Head of Trade Sales and Partnerships Hayley Morris said: “This tour is the ultimate way to discover China, combining ancient wonders, natural beauty and cutting-edge innovation. With no backtracking or domestic flights, it offers a seamless, scenic experience by train and river cruise.”
